During my first year of high school (and for the next 4 years) I launched and ran my city’s first after school program. I was moved by my city’s ranking on the list of the world’s most dangerous cities, and thought I could do something to fix this by supporting students from the most challenged schools in the city.
Students at Curiosity received free workshops in topics ranging from how to use Khan Academy to spanish homework study hall. Curiosity grew from 8 students and 1 teacher (me), to 100+ students and 80 collaborators ranging from volunteers, administrative staff, and mentors.
My work at Curiosity was recognized by ITESM Business School with an award to achievement in Social Entrepreneurship. While running this program, I designed and developed all of our visual elements.
Curiosity’s branding was designed to depart from the typical non-profit language. We aimed to be partners with the students we served, and instilled emotion and success through our branding
